Aussie alt-pop artist Chymes has continued her stunning run of singles, with “Black Hole Friend” appearing recently. A cathartic piece of dark-pop that is bolstered by slick instrumentation, subtle grooves, and Chymes’ gorgeous vocals, “Black Hole Friend” is effectively a a self-described “fuck you” to all of those that fall into the titular category.

“New track ‘Sleepless’ flirts with addictive pop sensibilities that allow Chymes’ voice to blissfully glide over pulsating beats, almost as if she were in the clouds and nothing could be sweeter. The track flaunts the parts of Chymes that have made her so addictive to listen to, and has no qualms about exuberayting all of its glossy elements to fans and newcomers alike.”

“Sweet vocal arrangements transport the listener into a realm of bliss as ‘Sleepless’ burrows itself into the mind. Catching myself humming the melody on multiple occasions, I can safely say that Chymes has created a memorable earworm.”
-Luke Byatt

“Entering with some killer pitched percussion and vocal effects, 'Worship' hits deep into a seemingly new era for Chymes which was laid out in her previous release 'Bad'. 'Worship' is the self-confident electro-pop anthem we've all been waiting for.”

“It's an upbeat moment of craftful pop music from Chymes, keeping itself in-line with their hook-friendly previous work while also showcasing this aforementioned evolution and growth - something Chymes has done a whole lot of over the past twelve months.

Thick with vocal chops and shimmering synth, it's a bright and capturing pop tune that really puts its foot on the gas.”
